Pink Passion or White Wave? What is it going to be?

Roses have a long and colourful history and popularly known as the “queen of flowers”.  Symbol of love, beauty, war and politics, roses according to fossil evidence are 35 million years old.

Roses are perfect for gifting purposes. They are available in a variety of colours from white to pink, and orange to red. But, the most beautiful thing about roses is that they are immensely beautiful and capture the attention of the observer at the first glance. It happens with most of us that when we go to pick a rose bouquet we just get confused and cannot decide what we should have. Amazingly arranged in a bouquet, roses are perfect way to express your emotions.

Every rose colour has a significance of its own and reflects different emotions. Red represents love, beauty and courage. Dark rose for unconscious beauty. Single rose means “I Love You”. White rose means purity, innocence, silence and secrecy. Pink rose implies appreciation, passion and admiration. Yellow rose is for friendship, delight and promise of a new beginning. Orange rose means desire and enthusiasm.

Roses have long been a symbol of love and passion. They have been used for hundreds of years to convey messages without words. So, next time you plan to make someone feel special, make sure you have roses to ease your job.

White Rose – Symbol of Innocence and Purity

We all love flowers, no matter what color or type it is.  It is one of the very few things common in almost everyone’s list of favorite. Flowers also do make amazing gifts for happy occasions. The most amazing quality of flowers is that they bring smile on your face at the instant you look at them.  Rose is the queen of flowers and white rose is the symbol of innocence and purity.

A bouquet of white roses display to its best advantage the formal and structural beauty of a white rose. The white rose is the queen of the bridal bouquet. The white rose is a fitting way to honour a friend or loved one in recognition of a new beginning or a farewell. Without any vibrant colour to upstage it, the pure white color conveys respect, pays homage to new beginnings and expresses hope for ht future.

The significance of white rose is engraved in the pages of ancient history too. Way back in 14th century, there was a series of dynastic wars between the houses of Lancaster and York for the throne of England. The White Rose was the heraldic sign of the Duke of York.

Today, white rose has retained its associations with both pure love and formal ceremonies such as anniversaries, christenings and graduations.

While gifts are known to be the best expressions of your feelings, choosing the most appropriate gift for the occasion becomes essential. Well, thanks to the Internet that has brought the world to your living room. It is only a matter of time before you start looking for the best gift in the websites of online gift stores and get what you wanted. The online gift stores give you a plenty of options to choose from, no matter what your budget is.

For a gift to convey your feelings well, there is a need to answer certain questions. What is the age of the person? Are you buying a gift for a boy or a girl? What is the type of the event? If you are buying a gift for someone very close, you are most likely to know his or her preferences. Choosing the right gift in that case becomes much easier. If you do not, hover your eyes on the huge collection and try to find out what is that thing that you think will best express your feelings. Like gifting flowers or flower arrangements is the most preferred choice.  This is because everyone loves flowers and are usually associated with love and care.

Remember, it should be the taste of the receiver guiding you and not yours. So, if you are still in a maze try getting some help from your friends and family or ask your store representative to guide you with the selection.

Rose Day

Rose Day

For friends and lovers across the world, February 14 is a special date. It is universally celebrated as Valentine’s Day, the day people express their love for one another. Experts have different opinions regarding the origin of Valentine’s Day but one common theory is that it originated from a Roman, named St. Valentine. He became a martyr who refused to give up Christianity and died on February 14, 269 A.D.
But Valentine celebrations last a full week, starting with Rose Day, which falls on February 7. For centuries, couples, friends and relatives exchange roses, expressing their love and passion for one another. A rose has always been considered a symbol of everlasting togetherness. Although different colors signify different emotions, the core idea of expressing one’s feelings remains unchanged. So if you are planning to make someone feel special this year, begin with Rose Day, which is this Thursday.

While the traditional favorite has always been a red rose, people are now looking for more unique colors to add a personal touch to their expressions. Subtle variations in color have far-fetched connotations, and if you don’t know which one’s what, it is better to read on before making that hasty trip to your florist. Cardinal red denotes sublime love. Burgundy is associated with complimenting someone who is unaware of her beauty; while Fiery Red shows off your passionate feelings in the best possible way.

If you happen to be in a platonic relationship, like friendship, get Yellow Roses. They represent care and concern, signifying the happiness and joy derived from being faithful friends. Having said that, it is best not to let ambiguity spoil your beautiful relationship: refrain from gifting a yellow rose with a red tip as that symbolizes a friendship blossoming into romantic love. You may think, “Who would know the difference?” But the truth is many do!

White Roses stand for purity and innocence and hence, you can never go wrong with them at weddings or anniversaries. A Pink Rose has a lot of versatility; hence it can portray a variety of emotions. If you want to show gratitude or appreciation, stick for darker pink. Lighter pink roses convey admiration or joy. You can combine pink and white roses as a token of non-romantic affection and appreciation for the concerned person.

If you happen to be struck by Cupid, Lavender Roses can speak the unspoken for you. They symbolize love-at-first-sight and the other person’s mesmerizing beauty. Shades of Purple can also do the trick as they exude majestic or elegant beauty. It helps that purple is synonymous with royalty. If you cannot stop fantasizing about a special someone, express how you feel with Orange roses. They stand for desire, enthusiasm and your newfound fascination.
