World Anti Terrorism Day

Terrorist attacks have taken place in every corner of this earth. Where we dream of making our cities and countries more beautiful, the ugly face of terrorism peeps out of nowhere and shatters our dreams. Terrorists have been striking every now and then, killing those we love and crushing our hopes and aspirations we nurture for years. At Floralis, we join hands against terrorism and condemn such acts across the globe.

We believe that World Anti-Terrorism Day is not just a day in our calendars for other people to fight for our security. Each one of us is responsible for the safety of our country and we need to be vigilant throughout the year. We also hope that every nation stands up against terrorists and unites to bring them down once and for all. May 21st is celebrated as World Anti-Terrorism Day every year all across the globe, with countries pledging to fight and succeed against terrorism in the days to come.

Within the last decade, it’s noticeable how terrorist activities have increased in their frequency and magnitude. If you read the daily newspapers, you will come across one or more news bulletins of terror strikes in some part of the world. Some events shock the entire planet and leave a big mark on the entire civilization. Who can forget the twin-tower attacks of 9/11? This incident made people understand how terrorists can strike big if we aren’t alert in our daily lives. It also proves that complacency in security can be catastrophic and terrorist organizations capitalize on these lapses to execute their misdeeds.

Each year, thousands of clueless young people from different nations are lured into the evil grasp of terrorism. May 21st is celebrated as World Anti Terrorism Day in order to make people, especially the youth, aware of the evil facade of terrorism. Once young people become more informed, the probability of them being misguided reduces. This special day is also celebrated to honor those soldiers who lost their lives fighting against terrorists and remember those innocent people who lost their lives to terrorist attacks.

In this modern nuclear era, every nation has the power to crush terrorism once and for all. However, since this may be at the cost of innocent lives, governments of different countries follow other routes to fight terrorists. They organize events, interactive chat sessions, and peace conferences to raise sensitivity and awareness among citizens against terrorism. But one thing needs to be made clear – terrorism doesn’t have a religion.

We should unite on this mission without having any prejudices about a particular religious sect. Otherwise, we can never finish terrorism from the roots. It’s important to remember that no religion preaches violent killings of innocent people and those who instigate or indulge in such ghastly acts are anything but religious.
At Floralis, we sincerely hope that people all across the world become more sensitive to each other and start caring more. Praying for world peace and a world free of terror.
