Unique Flowers of the World

Floralis, the local online flower shop, delivers more than just flowers nationally in India and internationally to other countries worldwide. We have an eclectic collection of fresh flowers, bouquets, wreaths, cakes, candles, chocolates, artificial and dried flowers. Our stocks are updated regularly, according to consumer demand as well as the evolved buying needs of the global online shopper. Floralis is home to some of the most exotic and rare flowers of the world. Show your care, affection and appreciation with these natural wonders. They are sure to add vibrancy and color to the recipients’ lives, giving them immense joy and a sense of fulfillment that comes with sharing the good things in life.

One such unique flower is the Anthurium. Anthuriums originally belong to tropical America, with close to 800 species found in northern Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay. Other common names of this heart-shaped flower are Flamingo Lily, Painted Tongue and Flamingo Flower. The flower is a modified leaf which flares out from the fleshy spike where the actual flowers grow. The stem reaches to a length of about 20 inches depending on the leaf’s size: the bigger the leaf, the longer the stem. These flowers are very attractive and popular among flower growers and lovers alike. At Floralis, you will find Anthuriums in different cuts and flower arrangements.

Another flower in this category is the Bird of Paradise, available exclusively at Floralis, the online flower shop. It is one of the most vibrant flowers around and originates from South Africa. The name has been derived from its spectacular shape which has an uncanny resemblance to a bird’s head and beak. The flower appears similar to a colorful bird in flight. Birds of Paradise are also called Crane Flowers and they bloom between September and May. The foliage is similar to banana leaves and has long petioles. The leaves of the plant follow a strict two rank arrangement to form a thick, glossy green crown making it an ideal ornamental plant. The Birds of Paradise plants usually grow 4 feet tall.

Calla Lilies are popular for wedding bouquets, and you will certainly spot one according to your liking at Floralis. They signify beauty and magnificence and hence their demand in matrimonial celebrations.  A Calla Lily flower has a very unique form which is very different from other varieties and helps it stand out. It comes in various colors of pink, yellow, purple, green and orange. Callas are also referred to as Trumpet Lily, Arum Lily and Pig Lily. They belong to southern Africa and are relatively easier to grow than other exotic plants. On average, a Calla Lily grows between 1 to 3 feet high. The leaves are 1.5 inches long and rich green. They look like arrowheads, with silver or white speckles.

Calla Lilies make excellent houseplants, ideal for flower arrangements, bouquets, borders and beds. At Floralis, our expert florists put together elegant flower arrangements using Calla Lilies so that you can cherish those special occasions for a long time.

Monsoons are here !!

Monsoon
Who doesn’t love the smell of wet soil after the first rain? Or how everything looks so fresh, vibrant and clean after a downpour? Monsoons have always been associated with a lot of things – umbrellas, raincoats, paper boats, water logging, slow traffic, hot pakoras and yummy khichdi. The ideal way to spend a rainy day is lazing around in the house with a book and a steaming cup of tea or coffee. Forget television: it’s the perfect time to relive the golden era of Indian film music with the likes of Mukesh, Mohammad Rafi, Kishore Kumar, Manna Dey, Lata Mangeshkar and Asha Bhonsle on radio or music records.

This year, the monsoons have arrived on time. Kerala, on the southern coast, received its first rains of the season on Saturday, June 1. The Indian Meteorological Department also confirmed that large parts of adjoining Tamil Nadu witnessed rains, reinforcing the fact that the monsoon is finally upon us. Last year, the monsoon came to Kerala four days after the June 1 forecast. But it was a good season, with bumper harvests, especially of rice, cotton and sugar. Surplus production of cotton led to robust exports while sugar output exceeded demand. Other parts of India will experience the rainy season by the second week of June.

The best thing to do when it pours is to do nothing at all. We owe it to ourselves to slow down a bit, to savor the little joys of life and stop running. Everything can wait - deadlines, work and clients. It’s perfectly fine to take out a few moments from your hectic schedules for yourself. And a rainy day is the perfect excuse. When you stop racing against the clock for once, you begin to realize what you’ve been missing out on. It’s spending time with your loved ones. You want to be home with your family, enjoying quality time with them rather than just eating together at the dinner table every night. Then there are times when you come home so late that you have to eat alone.

At Floralis, we understand that it’s not always possible to be with your near and dear ones all the time. That’s why we have carefully selected a wide range of gifts and novelties for you to show how much you care. Even when it’s raining outside, you can shop inside! Choose from our collection of fresh flowers, bouquets, assorted chocolates, irresistible combos, cakes, candles, dried flowers, vases and a bevy of home décor items. Each product is unique – it’ll make the recipient feel more special while show your thoughtfulness at the same time. Imagine it’s a rainy day, your special someone is at home looking outside the window and the doorbell rings. She opens the door only to be greeted with a bunch of fresh flowers, a box of the finest chocolates and a cute teddy. Won’t it make her day? Start shopping at Floralis now!

Floralis turns 3 !!

“The best way to make your dreams come true is to wake up” – three years ago, on April 3 2010, a new brand with an unpretentious tagline “Say it with flowers” opened its first retail outlet in Mani Square, Kolkata. Back then, everyone associated with the brand had a simple yet powerful dream of spreading love across the globe with flowers. And what a dream it has been: from expanding service lines to include corporate gifting and event management to having its own franchise-base in 2012. These and other milestones have shaped Brand Floralis’ journey so far and have helped us to establish ourselves as one of the leading Floral brands in the country as well as internationally.

It takes everyone to move the world forward. Ours was no different. The story of a flower shop distributing happiness one delivery at a time would have remained a fairytale without the Floralis team, the people behind the brand and their relentless hard work. They are a revelation, giving their hearts and souls to make our vision a reality. And most importantly, YOU: the reason why we are there in the first place. Your continued patronage has been a beacon of light, guiding us through all these years. As a token of our appreciation, we are celebrating Foundation Week, from April 1 across all outlets in Kolkata and Bangalore and also here on our virtual store.

We have lined up a string of exciting events for you – participate in Expression Day, Floral Design Workshops and exciting Quizzes/Puzzles. There are a lot of gifts to be won as well as fabulous discounts on our products. Another highlight of the week-long celebrations is the launch of our Loyalty Program. Be there and find out how gifting can be so much more rewarding. Most importantly, we would like to see you in our stores during this period (and also, throughout the year!) as without you the celebrations would mean nothing to us. So, book your dates for a flowery experience as you usher in our Foundation Day with lots of fun and frolic. And don’t forget to bring your loved ones with you.
If, for any reason you are unable to make it to one of our stores, please visit the online flower boutique. There are surprises galore, together with crazy discounts that you can avail when you shop for gifts, starting April 1, 2013.

Women's Day

A single woman can change many things; many women can change everything. That’s the underlying philosophy of celebrating a day dedicated to the spirit of womanhood all across the world. March 8 is International Women’s Day. And at Floralis, we salute, respect and acknowledge the social, economic and political achievements of women. To make March 8 truly special for the women in your life, we offer a thoughtful and innovative line-up of gifts which show how much they mean to you every single day of the year.

Mother, wife, sister, daughter, and friend: a woman plays many roles with equal élan and makes this world a little bit more livable for the men. Can you imagine life without them? Can you forget how your mother woke up early mornings when you were in school and make breakfast or prepare your lunch box? Or, not appreciate how your wife takes care of the little things daily so that you don’t have to run crazy looking for something like a matching, and at the same time, properly ironed shirt to wear with that suit to office? And weren’t you ready to pick a fight with anybody who as much as talked to your little sister in a raised voice?

You know life wouldn’t be the same without these very special women. They adore us; hold us tight when something doesn’t go right, love us and spoil us silly – they are always there for us whenever we need them. Would it be too much to ask if we show our appreciation and respect by gifting them something that’s inexpensive yet goes a long way in showing we care? Probably not: more so with our carefully assorted range of fresh flowers, vases, candles, cakes, chocolates, sweets and home décor items which pamper these very special individuals. You will certainly put a smile on their faces and make them feel more wanted. Now, isn’t that a good thing?

And if you think you would be late in gifting the “fairer sex” this year, put your worries at bay. With Express Delivery, rest assured your gifts will arrive in time. Most products come with same day delivery; others can be delivered to the recipient’s doorstep within 24 hours. Isn’t that great? So, this year, you cannot make any excuses for forgetting this very important day or not getting the time to shop around for gifts in your tight schedules. We have made it easier for you to browse through the offerings and order with just a single click. Our secure payment gateway ensures all transactions are safe and your financial information is never at risk.

Women – love them, hate them, but you cannot ignore them. And at Floralis, we go to great lengths to make International Women’s Day a day they will remember for a long time. So order now and see the sparkle in their eyes or hear the joy in their voices as they open their gifts and smother you with more love and affection you can probably handle!

Republic Day

Happy Republic Day

January 26th holds a special meaning for all Indians across the globe. It marks India’s Republic Day, the date on which the Indian Constitution was formed by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The Constitution for the world’s largest democracy was drafted and put into force on this day and is celebrated in India with much gusto. It replaced the Government of India Act 1935 as the document that governed India on January 26, 1950. The main parade happens in New Delhi, the national capital, at the Rajpath, in the presence of the President of India. At other state capitals, the anniversary is celebrated with similar enthusiasm, but on a much smaller scale.  Here, the Governor of the state hoists the national flag, followed by other cultural festivities.

At Floralis, we are celebrating the spirit of Republic Day, with an impressive line-up of gifts and novelties to bring happiness to your loved ones. Let us remember the golden heritage of our country and feel proud to be a part of India. Show your respect for your country. Collect a "Tricolor Republic day Badge" on purchasing from our online and retail stores on this Republic Day.  Spread more cheer with exclusive discounts, till January-end, and save big while you shop from our online store. With new product categories added in 2013, you have more choice at your fingertips. Some of the new collections include Glass Vases, Five Star Cakes and other unique gift items. You can enjoy amazing discounts, all through January, on purchase amounts as low as Rs. 500. So, what are you waiting for? Visit our online flower boutique and discover the joy of gifting. And if you are in two minds regarding delivery times, rest assured with express delivery, shop with confidence - your near and dear ones will receive their presents on-time, every time. That’s a Floralis guarantee!

There’s more good news for our esteemed customers in Kolkata. We have a new franchisee, Golden Petal, on Allenby Road. Now, shop for your favorite gifts in South Kolkata, and make someone happy today. In addition, we are continuing with our operations in Mani Square, Kolkata’s premium shopping and lifestyle destination, at Manicktalla, on E.M. Bypass. Your continued patronage inspires us to reach out to you in more ways and help you in spreading smiles. In our efforts to enable you to renew ties with distant relatives and long-lost friends, we are expanding our reach across India. You will see us in Bengaluru shortly. This garden city will host its first Floralis boutique, and the people shall have more reasons to showcase love and affection to those who matter. Watch out this space for more information.

A lot is happening at Floralis: discounts, new products, stores and partnerships. 2013 has started with a bang for all of us and there is a lot to look forward to. We hope to serve and delight you in more ways in the coming months.
