Have you started preparing for the Pujas !!

Sweet is thy LOVE!.........  Sweeter is thy ANGER!! ............ Sweetest is thy SMILE............. Mother!!!

Come August and the air of festivities begin in different parts of India. From Rakshabandhan to Janmashtami, to Ganesh Chaturthi to Navrathri and Deepavali, the list seems end less. Out of all these festivals, Durga Puja or Navrathri is celebrated with sincere pomp and joy in the eastern and northern parts of India.

As the name indicates, Navrathri is a celebration of ten days and nine nights, during which, the Mother Goddess Durga is said to have fought and vanquished the demon Mahishasura. Mythology has it that the fight to end the asura lasted for nine nights and ten days. It is also said that in the epic Ramayana, a similar fight happened during Navrathri with Rama killing the demon king Raavan on the tenth day.
All across India, these ten days are celebrated through fasting and ritualistic prayers, the climax of which happens on the tenth day. In Northern and Western India, giant effigies of Raavan are burnt to denote the end of evil. The practice is a little different in Eastern India, wherein, the presence of sacred Mother Goddess is invoked through prayers on the first day of the pujas (also called Mahalaya).

She stays  in the makeshift pandals for the next nine days, and is bid adieu on the tenth day. The idol that was used to signify the presence of the Mother is submerged in the holy waters of the Ganges on this day.

A national holiday is declared to allow everybody to enjoy the festivities to the fullest with their family and friends. Although, the holiday granted is only for a period of five days, the best time of the year starts almost as soon asyou start preparing for this grand festival. So, have you started your bit of shopping yet? Remember, the artisans are busy shaping up straw and bamboo idols of the Goddess and will be adding colour to them in no time. Autumn Specials

Autumn Hues For Your Home

They blow in the wind. They wait for spring. Trees have a lovely life. They never ever shrink.

“The bursting sun, the crackling leaves, See them glowing from the trees?”

All of us are bogged down by life’s incessant changes. The race of life leaves us with no scope to think. Or is it?

No. We do stop and think.

Whenever we are in trouble, we look for hope. When we are sad, we look for inspiration to feel happy.

And those beautiful moments when we derive inspiration from nature around us, turn out to be the most beautiful moments of our lives.

“Colors surround us, so vivid and bright, What colors do you see, in this beautiful sight?”

Nature. Ever changing, yet, ever consistent. Every part of nature welcomes change. Rough weathers…. Molting….. Everything! Just like how we have to do, in our lives.

Take trees for example. Spring is when they shed their old leaves and take up a new appearance. And in order to make the process smooth, they prepare themselves all through autumn. In a cycle that none of us have ever missed, the leaves gradually change color from green to red to yellow. Don’t you forget purple. Even on their way to change, trees show us how to prepare for it, giving us the beautiful season – autumn.

“I see orange and purple, yellow and red, A big leaf just swooshed by my head!!!”

Won’t it be beautiful if these deep hues greet your guests every time they enter your living room? At Floralis, we have noticed how beautiful autumn is in parts of India and elsewhere. We have also noticed how you, love to have autumn colors in your rooms! So go on. Independence Day

Independence Day : We Love To Celebrate The Tricolor

Each year, August 15 gives us a reason to stop, think, and salute the martyrdom of all those bravehearts who laid down their lives for attaining freedom for Mother India. In 1947, when Panditji announced that India had woken up to a new destiny, he definitely meant all bright things. Ever since then, we feel it is our duty to keep the embers of sacrifice alive, as we pledge for a better India each year on Independence Day. Governments have come and governments have gone. Progress has been slow and steady and all of us know how, today, India is one of the most powerful democracies in the world.

Times have been tough lately. Even the twenty-four hours previous to August 15, the country  saw an Indian submarine capsizing in a mishap. On the morning of Independence Day, the state ofAssam experienced blasts that claimed a few precious lives. Not to forget the frontier situation that, for the last one month, has experienced unpleasant violence, both on the eastern and western parts of Northern India. With tension pouring more on the India-Pakistan line of control, one cannot but put their heads down in grief for those soldiers who were victims of mindless firing from across the border.

And still, hope lives on. We, at Floralis, revise our pledge to contribute to the never-ending spirit of Hope. For a better future. A stronger demeanor on the part of our government. A non-corrupt system. And more unity. As we all know, respect for women is an indicator of how successful a country can be. This Independence Day most women demanded a fear-free society for themselves, if not for anything else. Yes, the sacrifice of soldiers and martyrs must not go in vain. They would never want a woman to feel afraid and tortured in this holy land of Bharat. Let us all come together and give each other a reason to be proud as an Indian.

Independence Day is also a reminder of the rich cultural heritage of India. One, in which languages and tribes of a large number co-exist in peace and prosperity. The Independence Day parade on the grounds of Red Fort in Delhi is witness to a wide variety of cultural programs presented by youth from different parts of the country. Similar celebrations are witnessed all over the country and if you are close to any one of these, make sure you never miss it. This is because, this is the only time of the year, when the patriotic fervor that lays in our hearts gets re-kindled.

The Google Doodle dedicated to 67th Independence Day Celebrations Of India.
Tiny flags waving in the hands of children, participants, and th audience is a sight that suddenly brings to your notice one fact. A fact no nation can deny. A fact no Indian can deny. WE ARE ONE. No matter how many people try to divide us. Or external forces try to snatch away our land. We are one. The love for the tricolor that existed back in the 1940s, is still the same. We love it and shall do anything to keep its glory untarnished. Standing and singing the National Anthem in all unison as we see the trocolor unfold, is an experience to be remembered and felt, deep within.

On this Independence Day, Floralis took utmost pride in saluting all those martyrs, who have given us a free India. And gifts its customers rare discount offers to help them make their celebrations more colorful and meaningful. Visit our online boutique to make avail of these discounts to the fullest. Once again. Jai Hind.

Decorate your Homes

Home Décor

Artificial flowers
You know that fresh, natural flowers are a source of instant joy and can make the recipient feel on top of the world. But there are artificial flowers as well which are great for your home and can lend that aura of natural beauty to your interior spaces. One very distinct advantage artificial flowers have over their natural counterparts is their longer shelf life. Unlike natural flowers which can wilt and die if not taken proper care of, artificial flowers and floral arrangements can last for months on end with very low maintenance.

Dried Flowers
Dried flowers have been a huge hit with Indian customers. Floralis is one of the largest suppliers of dried flowers in the country with a large volume being exported to Europe and the United States of America. They can be decorated with other plants and shrubs to create beautiful home décor items and you’ll find a large variety of them at our online and offline stores.

Glitter Flowers
Floralis is proud to present an exciting range of glitter flowers for the modern home. These flowers add a touch of style and you can get really creative with this product. It’s flexible enough to adorn your living room as well as make your little angel’s room even more beautiful. They are now available to order online. You can also check them out in our outlets in Kolkata and Bengaluru.

Mats & Wall Hangings
As a complete home décor store, Floralis keeps your walls in mind too. Often, in a bid to make the rooms contemporary and stylish, we get confused what to do with the walls. Too little and they would feel barren; and if you try to put too much into one side, it feels forced and cluttered. That’s why we now feature a variety of wall hangings to suit different themes and add elegance to your rooms without going overboard. We also have a range of mats in different materials and sizes to suit myriad requirements.

Candle Holders
Every once in a while, you must have felt the need for a candle stand to support the candles and at the same time, look classy. Candles are now more of a style statement than a necessity and while you can place your candles just about anywhere, there’s always the thought at the back of your mind that they shouldn’t spoil the area where they are being put. But you can bid adieu to this worry of yours as Floralis now has a huge stock of some of the most aesthetic yet functional candle holders which add to the charm of your interiors and give you peace of mind.

There’re also hurricane lamps, lanterns, kitchen utensils and flower vases which have newly arrived and are worth seeing for their simplicity as well as earthy appeal. We have a lot of exciting products like these and many more lined up for you. So come prepared for some heavy shopping!

Republic Day

Happy Republic Day

January 26th holds a special meaning for all Indians across the globe. It marks India’s Republic Day, the date on which the Indian Constitution was formed by Dr. B.R. Ambedkar. The Constitution for the world’s largest democracy was drafted and put into force on this day and is celebrated in India with much gusto. It replaced the Government of India Act 1935 as the document that governed India on January 26, 1950. The main parade happens in New Delhi, the national capital, at the Rajpath, in the presence of the President of India. At other state capitals, the anniversary is celebrated with similar enthusiasm, but on a much smaller scale.  Here, the Governor of the state hoists the national flag, followed by other cultural festivities.

At Floralis, we are celebrating the spirit of Republic Day, with an impressive line-up of gifts and novelties to bring happiness to your loved ones. Let us remember the golden heritage of our country and feel proud to be a part of India. Show your respect for your country. Collect a "Tricolor Republic day Badge" on purchasing from our online and retail stores on this Republic Day.  Spread more cheer with exclusive discounts, till January-end, and save big while you shop from our online store.
