One such unique flower is the Anthurium. Anthuriums originally belong to tropical America, with close to 800 species found in northern Argentina, Mexico and Uruguay. Other common names of this heart-shaped flower are Flamingo Lily, Painted Tongue and Flamingo Flower. The flower is a modified leaf which flares out from the fleshy spike where the actual flowers grow. The stem reaches to a length of about 20 inches depending on the leaf’s size: the bigger the leaf, the longer the stem.
